AN INTRODUCTION OF “WTO”
Keywords:
WTO, GATT, ITO, TRIPS, AoA and TRIMSAbstract
The WTO came into being in 1995 but it has evolved over the past 50 years as the successor to the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT). The WTO is the GATT plus a lot more. It is an organization which main function is to ensure that trade between member countries must flow as smoothly, predictably, and freely. Under this conceptual paper, it has been assessed that how WTO takes place?, efforts to understand the historical background of GATT and WTO, to find out difference between the GATT and WTO, to know about the structure, secretariat and budget of it, to make the people aware about the various agreements of it and to know the principles of WTO’ trading system and many quantitative restrictions. For this purpose, secondary source of information has been used.
