A STUDY ON GROWTH AND VARIABILITY IN THE PRODUCTION OF RICE IN THE STATE OF BIHAR (1985-86 TO 2009-10)
Keywords:
Rice Production, Rainfall dependency and production variabilityAbstract
This paper studies the growth and the variability in the production of rice in the state of Bihar. It was found that the growth rate was a positive value, which indicates that the production increased over the years butwas nominal. The variability in the production was also high. Dependency on rainfall could be the reason. Some suggestions are given to raise the production and the productivity level.
