THE ROLE OF HARYANA GRAMIN BANK IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF RURAL ECONOMY

Banks plays an important role in mobilization and allocation of resources of country. Haryana Kshetriya Gramin Bank (HKGB), is the 1st Regional Rural Bank (RRBs) Sponsored by Punjab National Bank (PNB) was established in Haryana on 2nd October 1975. On 21st December, 2005 as per Govt. of India, notification three RRBs were amalgamated and a new entity called Haryana Gramin Bank (HGB). The study objective is to analyze the credit disbursement of Haryana Gramin Bank to rural economy covers financial year from 2005-06 to 2013-14. The study used in secondary data and to analyze the data, simple statistical tools like percentage and Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR). The findings of study shows the credit disbursement of Haryana Gramin Bank to rural economy is good during the study period.
