BUSINESS ETHICS AND CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: A NEED FOR TODAY

Abstract

Today’s the scenario has changed. The complexity of human life has increased. The human needs has grown up, he is never satisfied. This dissatisfaction leads to continuous craving for obtaining more, by any mean and at any cost i.e. at the cost of others. Is this is the kind of society we are looking for? Is this our business? This research paper has gone through in finding the answer to these questions. Business and Society are interdependent. Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility are allied to each other. Moreover both are indispensable for development of a better society. What business should do and in which particular way so that it should have a sustainable environment in which it is operating. Business ethics knows the difference between right and wrong. Ethics means providing reasoned justification for our choices & behavior when it affects others, and reasoned justification for our praise or criticism of other people’s behavior and Corporate Social Responsibility is about capacity building for sustainable livelihood. It respects cultural differences and finds the business opportunity in building the skills of the employees, government, customer and society at a large. This paper make an effort for developing a brief conduct to have a sustainable business environment and society by following proper conducts of Business Ethics and following a appropriate approach towards Corporate Social Responsibility.
