BUILDUP FACTORS FOR CONCRETES WITH VARYING FLYASH CONTENT AND PENETRATION DEPTH
Keywords:
Buildup factor, penetration depth, concrete.Abstract
In the present study, an attempt has been made to compute exposure buildup factors for concretes with pozzolanic flyash replacing 15, 25 and 35 % of its cement content. Concretes can be easily prepared and flyash is also easily available as two-third of electricity requirements of our country are met by coal operated power plants. The data for buildup factors of selected samples has been generated in the energy range 0.015–15 MeV and penetration depth upto 40 mfp. The photon interactions with the samples have been discussed in terms of exposure buildup factor as a function of penetration depth. From the present investigations for all penetration depths, it has been concluded that exposure buildup factors are very large in the medium energy region.
