Abstract

Mutual Funds have emerged as the key player of saving and investment process in the current financial market. Mutual Funds have gained a lot of popularity from the past few years. In this paper, explains that a mutual fund is simply a pool of money that is invested by a professional manager in equity or debt in diversified manner with the goal of increasing the value of each share of the fund for its investors. The purpose of the study is to analyse the customers satisfaction and experiences with respect to the types of mutual fund, main objective behind investing in mutual fund scheme, opinion relating to factors that attract them to invest in mutual funds, percentage of income invested in mutual fund, time period of mutual fund investment, deficiencies in the services provided by the mutual fund companies. The study is based on selected respondents of 200 mutual fund investor of Jalandhar district. The study concludes that investment in equity mutual funds means investment for future/long term and also participation in profits as well as losses of the business, asset allocation between equity and debt, start early and every investor should take investment decision in two ways - one is comparing the risk and expected yields and another way is sound planning, experts advices on the marketing of mutual funds will lead to the more customer satisfaction and better experiences in mutual fund industry.
