Abstract

Financial inclusion is a panacea and haven for the people who lives in absurd poverty. The government and RBI takes various initiatives to extirpate the poverty of the poor and to bring them into the formal financial system. But it has not been achieved effectively due to various reasons. In order to bring the poor into the formal system and achieve economic development women upliftment is very essential at current level. In this context the present study makes an attempt to study the Thiruvallur district SHG’s and their economic upliftment. The study concluded that the SHG play a crucial role in financial inclusion and their economic status is significantly increased with the financial inclusion measures of small micro credit loan, savings and insurance.
