THE ROLE OF GIRIJAN COOPERATIVE CORPORATION IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF TRIBALS A STUDY OF TELANGANA STATE

.Abstract
The present study focuses on the Girijan Cooperative Corporation (GCC) that played a vital role in the tribal economy, since its commencement. The main objective of the study is not only to determine the role played by GCC for an overall development of the tribal economy but also to evaluate the functioning of GCC in varied socio-economic conditions that exist in tribal areas. In turn they even avail loans from GCC for cultivating their agriculture. The study explained how the procurement of MFP/AP and supply channels of Domestic and other EC operate in the Telangana state. It’s concluded that the Corporation procurement of MFP/AP from tribes, supply essential commodities and other domestic requirements with reasonable prices to tribes. And also sanction of short term agricultural loans based on available of land. The Corporation played vital role for the development of tribals since the inception of the organization. Even though tribals are still exploited by private traders.
