Abstract

The first five years are critical to a child’s lifelong development. Early experiences influence brain development, establishing the neural connections that provide the foundation for language, reasoning, problem solving, social skills, behavior, and emotional health – characteristics that determine how well a child will do in school and in life. Readiness" is a term used to describe preparation for what comes next! School Readiness is not only about readiness of the child for the school but it also includes Readiness on the part of the school as well as of parents. Children's School Readiness is affected by the early care and learning experiences they receive. These studies have contributed to a growing awareness of the importance of quality early education and prekindergarten experiences. The present study was conducted to find out the quality of private preschool and its relationship with the School Readiness of the children. A total of 2 Preschool was selected in the age group of 3-5years. The quality of the preschool was assessed with the help of self prepared observation schedule and to assess the School Readiness of children. The tool developed by World Bank and CECED department of Ambedkar University.

The result shows that the value of r is highly significant that means there is a strong relationship between quality of school and school readiness of children. The availability of adequate infrastructure, equipments and teaching learning method followed by teachers has a strong impact on readiness of children for school.
