The aim of education is to develop a society having a better way of living and moral consciousness. But nowadays, the society gives importance to material aspects of culture and underestimates non-material aspects of culture. The value concepts of all societies were decreased and immoral behaviors were increased day by day. The effects of this deteriorations are shown in educational fields also especially in Kerala. The society demands qualified teachers having positive human qualities and values. Nowadays the childhood becomes the homes of crimes and students use nail polish, sweets, gum … etc as drugs. The students behave illegally and with disrespect towards friends, teachers and even to parents. These situations demands the need of education based on values. The present scenario, the Albert Bandura’s social learning theory has great role in bringing value oriented generation.
