Women are the gift of God. Without women there is no life on earth. We are unlucky to say that the percentage of women in Politics is less even though the Government has instituted reservation in Politics. Women constitute 10.6 percent of members of Parliament in India today, while globally this number is double, at 20.4 percent. India has ranked in top 20 countries worldwide for many years, with 9th best in 2013 - a score reflecting more women's participate on in India's political process than Denmark, Switzerland, Germany, France and United Kingdom. But it is revealed in the survey report 2012, 3,000 Indian women found the barriers in participation, specifically in running for political office, in the form of illiteracy, work burdens within the house hold, and discriminatory attitudes towards women as leaders. Lack of public support in both developed and developing countries, entrenched traditional views, lack of confidence, finance, family and societal support Violence and intimidation etc or a range of official and unofficial, formal and informal barriers can limit women’s political participation. There are some very visible women but their visibility creates a false sense of influence and parity. India ranks 78th in the world for women political representation in the world is dropping and the gender gap in the political ambition is growing with obvious ill effects for human health economics, education and work. This is quite embarrassing and pathetic situation People generally believe that women aren't interested, not ambitious enough, can't be bothered with all the ugliness of the public political sphere but this is not true Some people see politics as biased against women candidates and in many ways it still can be. When women fail there is so much attention paid to that; not so much when men fail. Women tend to be put under a microscope more so than men are. This kind of situation should change. It is time to stop analyzing and overanalyzing the barriers for women. May be it is time to start a new conversation! Women, and Party leaders, both need to take more responsibility for change and keep the women in prominent position .This paper covers the Political, Socio economic, Ideological and Psychological obstacles of women and overcoming them in the future
