ACADEMIC CHEATING

Abstract
The prevalence of academic cheating among the students is of widespread concern in the schools, educational Boards and Universities. It is one of the challenging tasks to educator’s administrators and students alike. The empirical evidences in the area of academic cheating clearly indicate that parental involvement, gender, residence are responsible for academic cheating. The present study examines the involvement of parents, gender and residence towards the academic cheating in senior secondary students. The sample of the study consists 200 students out of which 100 students belongs to rural and rest same belongs to urban. Further sample is also categorized on the basis of gender i.e. 100 boys and 100 girls from different schools of Jhajjar district of Haryana. The result of various analysis on the study have revealed that parental involvement has more effect on academic cheating then gender and resistance. This research’s result is also similar to earlier studies .It also shows that parental involvement significant effect significantly on academic cheating but residence & gender does not do the same on academic cheating of senior secondary student. Overall parental involvement is more responsible for strengthen academic cheating.
