Abstract
मनुष्य एक सक्रिय भौगोलिक कारक है जो प्राकृतिक पर्यावरण से विभिन्न रूपों में प्रभावित होता है। और साथ ही अपने ज्ञान, कौशल तथा आवश्कता के अनुसार उनमें परिवर्तन करके सांस्कृतिक भूदृश्य का निर्माण करता है। इन सांस्कृतिक भूदृश्यों का विश्लेषण करना मानव भूगोल का परम उद्देश्य है। मानव भूगोल में मानवीय क्रियाओं तथा प्रतिरूपों का अध्ययन किसी मनुष्य विशेष नहीं बल्कि मानव समाज के रूप में किया जाता है। इसी संदर्भ मं कुछ भूगोलवेŸाा सामाजिक भूगोल को मानव भूगोल का समानार्थी मानते है। और मानव भूगोल के स्थान पर सामाजिक भूगोल अथवा सांस्कृतिक भूगोल के प्रयोग को तार्किक और उचित मानते है।References
