Abstract

:  Bodo are the early inhabitants of Assam. They are second largest ethnic plain group of Assam in Northeast India. They have spread almost all throughout the North of Brahmaputra valley. Majority of Bodo people resides under the Bodo Territorial Autonomous Districts (BTAD). Demographically, the Bodos are scattered in many places of Assam but they follow the same pattern of food habits, culture, tradition and religion etc. In this paper, the main objective is to study about the historical overview of Bodos of Assam and the events and struggle leading to the formation of Bodo Territorial Autonomous Districts.
