Abstract

Slyvia, Cho et.al(2013) said in their study 'User Perceptions of Social Media: A Comparative Study of Perceived Characteristics and User Profiles by Social Media' that there is a lack of agreement on what social media is. From an instrumental aspect, social media is defined as online resources that people use to share content: video, photos, images, text, ideas, insight, humor, opinion, gossip, news. Emphasizing people‘s behaviors when engaged in social media, social media is also defined as the means for any person to: publish digital, creative content; provide and obtain real-time feedback via online discussions, commentary and evaluations; and incorporate changes or corrections to the original content.
