Abstract
: Organizations across the globe, including governments, are making strides towards reducing their dependence on oil, coal and Natural Gas. Countries in Europe, America, India, China and other developed/developing nations are giving financial incentives to companies and making supportive policies to develop technologies that can harness alternate sources of energy.
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) India, having Mission to ensure Increase in the share of clean power: Renewable (bio, wind, hydro, solar, geothermal & tidal) electricity to supplement fossil fuel based electricity generation; And Energy Availability and Access: Supplement energy needs of cooking, heating, motive power and captive generation in rural, urban, industrial and commercial sectors.
In This paper we assess Major stakes, their roles, objectives and promotional activities for developing and deploying Biogas technology for smoke and carbon free cooking and lighting in India, And also will know government activities to achieve the MNRE Vision and mission, and activities to achieve the targets.
