Effect of Fine Arts Instructions on Cognitive Development

Abstract

Exact origin of Art of Painting is unknown; but painting genre of fine arts appear to originate from the prehistoric times, cave paintings in different parts of the world are living example of how those people narrated their daily lives, in beautiful paintings it has been found that those who were good in fine arts have a distinct & unique personality. The artists of prehistoric era have shown it through their painting, whether it is of hunting or any other social activity, these paintings have been the oldest language of conversation & communication there is no doubt that some intelligence & appreciation of arts is necessary to understand the paintings.

The present article is an attempt to find out, weather there in an impact of fine arts instructions on cognitive development of fine arts students from ages 3-12. If a relationship between the two is found then teaching a fine arts may be advised to become an integral part of school curriculum. An attempt in this regard has been made by CBSE schools by making drawing as a compulsory subject in the curriculum in primary section.

The conclusion of the present article will go a long way in promoting fine arts instructions for enhancements of cognitive development.
