TRADITIONAL KNOWLEDGE ON MEDICINAL HERBS PLANTS USE IN LOCAL HEALERS OF JABALPUR(M.P.)

Abstract
The present study deals with traditional knowledge of medicinal herbs plants used by local healers of Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh India is regarding the use of plants for the treatment of various diseases prevalent in the healers. Medicinal plants having potential to influence components and treating disease. Some of the reasons for vanishing such invaluable knowledge /wealth are said to be shrinkage of forest areas and disappearance of indigenous culture and practices due to adoption of modern lifestyle. Madhya Pradesh is the largest state of India. Madhya Pradesh is the home of many tribal and healer a number of plant species in their forest areas. Tribal healer people depend on forest .the herbal healers of these region use plants part of their suitable preparation for treating various ailment. Healers are utilized as paste, powder, juice decoction and extract for the treatment of various disease in local people of the area.
