AN ANALYSIS OF MIGRATION TRENDS, COMPOSITION OF REMITTANCE AND ECONOMIC GROWTH OF NEPAL

Abstract
Remittance inflow has been standing as major source of income in Nepal because of migrant’s outflows. The share of remittance in foreign exchange reserve is higher than export. Besides having subsequent amount of remittance, economic development and growth is not improving as Nepal has policy framework for sustainable development and broad based economic growth. This study focus on relationship between remittance and economic growth has statistically significant or not. As a major source of remittance is allotted large amount in consumption likewise in real estate, land purchase, gold purchase and sell, house and building construction, loan repayment due to unfavorable business environment, Political instability, lack of entrepreneurship and lack of sound investment policy. In addition, capital formation has not been significant as it has expected to have assisted to capital expenditure. This study has examined secondary data from1975 to 2015 is used to find the relationship between remittance and economic growth of Nepal. In this study, descriptive and analytical method is used to analyze migration trends, composition of remittance.References
