Abstract
Chickpea (Cicer arientium) is an important legume crop of India. Mainly two types of chickpea are grown, brown seeded types called “Desi” and white seeded called “Kabuli”. In the present study a total of 20 samples were collected from Jabalpur and Mandla district and the isolation of fungi is done using Blotter paper method. A total of 32 and 21 fungal colonies were isolated from samples of Mandla and Jabalpur district respectively. The fungal isolates comprises of Mucor sp, Rhizopus sp, Aspergillus sp, Alternaria sp, Fusarium sp and Penicillium sp. Since the presence of seed mycoflora make the seeds unsuitable for consumption, proper storage condition are required to avoid deterioration of seeds.References
