A STUDY ON CHINESE AND HINDI IDIOMATIC TRANSLATION

Abstract
Counting the limitations of translation, cultural appreciation and linguistic oriented translation of phrases are the main factors. Formation of Idioms of any language is affected by its cultural background. The translator must know about the function of idioms in the source and the target languages, must know the characteristics of idioms in both languages. Translating something does not just mean to translate the language. Instead, it also means to translate the culture into another language.Chinese and Hindi idioms originate from different cultures incorporating their specific ideologies and philosophies. The paper tries to analyze the commonalities and differences between these two ancient cultures by comprehending the intended meaning.References
