AN ANALYSIS OF PERFORMANCE AND LIQUIDITY POSITION OF SELECTED STEEL INDUSTRIES: A CASE STUDY OF CHHATTISGARH STATE
Abstract
Working capital is relationship between the current assets and the current liabilities of the company. Its proper management is a crucial for achieving liquidity and profitability considerations of the company. A poor an inefficient working capital policy leads to wastage of resources, reduces the profitability of the company affets its liquidity position and in the long term leads to financial problems for the company. Chhattisgarh state is the the 3rd largest producer of steel in the country and has more than 85 steel & iron producing plants. The objective of this study is to understand the working capital policy of the selected steel companies of the state. As such various working capital ratios have been used to find out the efficiency with which selected firms are using their working capital.References
