Abstract

Standalone Photovoltaic (PV) electrification is gaining importance in developing countries and rural areas. Its utmost required at places where access to electricity is limited even though the place is well equipped with sufficient solar irradiation throughout the year.

The standalone PV system generates enough electricity from solar energy to meet the daily household requirements even at places where grid connection is not easily available. In this paper, a standalone PV system with battery backup for domestic applications has been modelled and simulated in MATLAB Simulink.
