CSR DISCLOSURES BY INDIAN COMPANIES-SPECIAL REFERENCE TO EDUCATION SECTOR.
Abstract
Social responsibility is best understood as the liability of profitmakers to undertake activities which protect and improve the welfare of society
as a whole along with their own interests and when this is studied with reference
to the education system prevailing in the society every society should be a
democratic society as social progress is based on an efficient education system
and greater efficiency can be achieved with drastic democratization, so
democratization of education system seems to be an integral part of a developed
economy and should be opted before going for democratization of society.
Combining these two aspects of the same society is no more an impossible task
in todays drastic world. Corporate social responsibility has gained
unprecedented importance and come up as an imperative to any companys
strategic decision-making. In todays scenario where there are ample
opportunities being provided by the government to uplift every other part of the
economy, CSR springs up as a separate wing for sustainable growth.
