ROLE OF LEARNER SUPPORT CENTRE COORDINATOR IN ODL

The Paper discuss about various Roles & Responsibilities of a Learner Support Centre coordinator inOpen and Distance Learning. Indira Gandhi National Open University is the pioneer in Open and
Distance Learning in India and due to its learner centric approach, flexibility in admission rules,
accessibility, affordability, quality of content and curriculum and largest jurisdiction, it has become a
household name in India. IGNOU structure is of three tier system, Headquarter at Delhi, Regional
Centres and Learner Support Centres. Learner Support Centres are face of ODL University and are
managed by Coordinators thus Coordinator has to play a vital role in ODL and they are expected to
be well oriented to the ODL system so as to achieve the institutional goal effectively.
