PROXIMATE DETERMINANTS OF FERTILITY IN MADHYA PRADESH
Keywords:
Fertility, Proximate Determinants, Madhya PradeshAbstract
Using data from three rounds of National Family Health Survey (NFHS), by employing Bongaarts Model, we find out that decline in index of contraception (Cc) and index of marriage (Cm) indicate to increase in contraception use and age at marriage respectively which play great impact on fertility decline in Madhya Pradesh. While, the postpartum infecundability index (Ci) marginally declined from NFHS I to NFHS III showing lesser impact on fertility control in the state.
