Manuscripts are the mirror of the literature which vividly presents a panorama of the religious, social, cultural and political status of the society. The present study deals with the availability of Hindi and Sanskrit Manuscripts in Bhai Gurdas Library, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. Bhai Gurdas Library has a treasure trove of 1511 priceless manuscripts relating to Punjab history, culture, Sikh religion and other faiths having a lot of information about Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and North West frontier province of Pakistan. This paper is an attempt to prepare an ordinary classification which can be helpful to arrange the manuscripts subject wise, language wise and year wise.
