An Institutional Digital Repository (IDR) would be a national asset that is a key driving force for its education, research, innovation and knowledge economy. IDR will cover the gaps that exist in the wide range from literacy to advanced knowledge discovery and development of scientific knowledge. It will also enable integrated knowledge gathering on diverse topics on core issues from economic, strategic and social sectors. This paper shows a clear picture how to create an IDR using DSpace open source software. This article will also elaborate the document uploading procedure in DSpace. The understanding of procedure will improve the self-archiving of documents, which in this age of information explosion is very much necessary.
