Abstract

Present investigation was confined for documentation of medicinal plants utilized by local communities of Jabalpur district, (M.P.). The purpose of this study was to collect information about the interaction of various communities of the area with plant wealth. The study presents data on 70 species belonging to different families or Genus. The reason for usage of medicinal plants by the rural people of the area was their poverty and poor, unaffordibility of expensive synthetic drugs. Also knowledge about usage of medicinal plants for the treatment of certain diseases has been passed to them from their ancestors since ages.
