BANK’S EMPLOYEES PERCEPTION ON QUALITY OF WORK LIFE AND ITS IMPACT ON JOB SATISFACTION IN LUDHIANA CITY

Abstract

Quality of worklife is very important for the organizations as well as the employees present study seeks to find out about the bank’s employees perception of their quality of work life w.r.t level and organization and to study that the association between QWL and job satisfaction. Convenience sampling method was followed. Survey was conducted and data was analyzed on the basis of responses provided by 120 respondents. A well-structured questionnaire was formulated. Regression was used to understand the relationship between QWL and overall job satisfaction among employees. The findings of the study emphasized that each of the QWL factors on its own is a salient predictor of job satisfaction. Also, private sector bank performed better in quality of work life initiatives. Job satisfaction in public sector related with mainly freedom, pay & security while in private sector banks, it is about information, feedback, variety of activities and opportunities. The result of study may have practical significance for human resource managers of especially banks to improve staff commitment and productivity and designing their recruitment and retention policies.
