Abstract

Air borne fungi at dairy farm of Jabalpur was investigated from January 2013 to April 2013 employing petriplate exposure method. In the present study qualitative prevalence of air borne fungi is studied. Altogether 15 fungal types were identified. Fungal colonies were recorded throughout the study period. In the month of January maximum number (211) of colonies were obtained. Aspergillus niger has been the dominant form followed by the Rhizopus, Fusarium, Chaetomium, Cladosporium, Curvularia, Penicillium, Alternaria etc. Of the various species of Aspergillus identified Aspergillus niger contributed highest 14.63% followed by Aspergillus flavus (6.50%), Aspergillus fumigatus (4.87%) and Aspergillus terreus (3.25%)
