A STUDY OF CONSUMER AWARENESS AMONG YOUNG STUDENTS IN JAIPUR CITY: AN EVALUATION OF LEVEL OF AWARENESS

Youth is the future of any country. Education is just not for scoring good marks, awareness is also important. Everyone today buys something. Everyone is a customer. So, it becomes important for them to understand the importance and relevance of Consumer Protection Act. This paper tries to search that to what degree the youth are aware of the consumer rights and how often they use their rights. A questionnaire has been framed and distributed among 300students in Jaipur city. The women contacted for the survey are mainly maids and women below the poverty line who are working. Out of 300 only 289 could be utilized. Standard Deviation has been used to determine the level of awareness among students. The paper focusses on finding whether the students are familiar with the rights and acts under the law and if not why is it so. It also tries to recommend ways for increasing awareness.
