Abstract

Insurance is an important need of the increasing complex modern world. In every
sphere of life risk has increased enormously. This has led to growth in the insurance
business and evolution of various types of insurance covers. The insurance sector- a
financial intermediary service, mobilizes savings and is a promoter of investment activities.
It plays a major role in the economic development of a country. After the globalisation of
insurance business in India there is a noteworthy change in the industry both in the
products as well as the services offered to the customers.
